Though they will get the majority of the hard work done in terms of transporting your belongings, you’ll still have a bit of work ahead of you when it comes to getting your new home in the perfect condition.

However, if you have applied the correct organizational skills to packing and have considered unpacking when doing so, then things will be rather stress free. Rather than just putting everything in the whatever boxes first catch your eye, put some thought into your packing and be prepared for the easiest move you have ever experienced.

So how does one pack to unpack?

Eliminate all unnecessary junk from your new home, by not bringing them there in the first place. When going through all your paperwork, get rid of all the things that you will not need. For larger items, consider giving them away to friends who will make good use of them, or host a garage sale and give the items a new home. One of the perks that come with having a garage sale, is that you’ll be able to make a few extra bucks and put that money towards your move.

Arrange your boxes according to the rooms they belong in. Separate kitchen appliances and kitchen utensils from bathroom products and bedroom products. This way you will have everything that you need for each room in one box and won’t have to worry about sorting through everything, and scavenging through all the randomness.

What will also help with arranging your boxes based on the room they belong in, is labeling these boxes. By doing this, you can have Northern Beaches Removalist put the boxes in the rooms they belong in. And so for heavier items, all the lifting would have already been done for you and all you will have left to do, is unpack the boxes.

Don’t mix all your clothing. Separate clothing based on season and also the things you hardly wear separately. This is something that you will appreciate. Most people who move don’t get all their unpacking done in one day and so when clothes aren’t separate properly, they have an immense amount of difficulties finding something to wear. When everything is organized, those first few days in your new home will be a breeze, and you won’t have to go through the frustration of rummaging through boxes and creating a mess.

Pack an essential bag. This is perhaps one of the most helpful tips when it comes to being able to relax on your first night in your new place. At the end of the day, you’ll perhaps be too overwhelmed and exhausted to take on the task of getting all those boxes unpacked and putting everything in place. An essential bag will have you prepared for your first night and allow for a stress free end to the day.

What will you need in your essential bag?

• Toothpaste, toothbrush and all other toiletries that you will need during your first few days.

• Pajamas, a change of clothes. You most will need something to wear to bed and also something to put on in the morning.

• Medication. Whether you have a condition where you need to take medication daily, or you just want to stay ahead of the game by having painkillers and headache pills handy, your essential bag is the perfect place to store them.

• Blankets and sheets. The movers may be responsible for getting your bed all set up, but it’s up to you to make it ready to sleep in. Especially if you have had a hectic day, knowing just where your bedding is, will make things a lot easier for you.

• Toys. For those with kids, be sure to have your little one’s favourite toys and books in the bag.
